Our Glow Party for our Quarter 1 Attendance Award was a huge success! The goal for quarter 1 was to improve our attendance from 88% to 90%. The school came in at 90.6% for the daily average attendance. The quarter 2 goal will be more difficult and we will need everyone's help to achieve it. For the second quarter, the school must improve our attendance from 90.6% to 92%. The reward for students will be an ugly sweater party along with cookie decorating on December 21, 2023. We can do this! Remember, Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow! We must show up to RISE up!

Robert H. Jenkins Elementary has met its first-quarter attendance goal of 90.6%. Students will have a glow party tomorrow, October 24, 2023! Come and get your glow on!

JES Robotics Club had a FirstLego League practice event at Browning-Pearce Elementary school today. We are thankful for this opportunity that our district organized for Robotics teams in Putnam County Schools. We are also thankful for these supportive RoboRams parents to let these wonderful students attend & drive all the way to bring them on Saturday!

Monday is just around the corner and we would love to have all of our kids wearing as much red as they can. "I am red-y to stay drug free!" is our theme for Monday. As we begin our promotion of Red Ribbon Week 2023, we want to encourage our families to talk with their children of all ages. Each conversation needs to be age appropriate. While we always promote drug free expectations in our schools, we know our children are exposed to so much. Please join us in being proactive by talking with your child. Support all the activities this week revolving around Red Ribbon Week.
"It’s Better to Talk Before Children Are Exposed to Alcohol and Other Drugs"
If you talk to your kids directly and honestly, they are more likely to respect your rules and advice about alcohol and drug use. When parents talk with their children early and often about alcohol and other drugs, they can protect their children from many of the high-risk behaviors associated with using these drugs. (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, 2022).

Our first 9- weeks came with new beginnings, lessons, goal setting and more. At JES, we are proud to announce our school met the first 9-weeks goal of achieving 3000 points in Accelerated Reader. Because of this, we added a dress up day to our Red Ribbon Week. On Friday, Oct. 27th, all students and staff can dress like their favorite book character.
Please remember, no masks and of course no hoods that cover the face.
*just a reminder, we will not be wearing costumes on Oct 31.

We had our 1st 9-weeks Terrific Kid Ceremony sponsored by our fantastic Kiwanis of Palatka. This is their 30th year and we are always so very grateful for the recognition our students get.
If you missed the ceremony, you can find it on the school district's YouTube channel at

We are looking for coaches, organizational leaders, church leaders, and business owners to be a part of this exciting new adventure. If you are interested, please contact our front office and ask for Lacey Hawk and/or Georgette Mills.

We've added a second choice on Wednesday's dress up day. Our Kg. Classes will be celebrating the 50th day of school. Feel free to join in if you are interested!

We are excited to announce we are going to be doing a mini fall festival for our students on Friday, October 27. You can help us by donating candy for the booths. If you are able, please send in an unopened bag/s of individually wrapped candy. We have over 800 students and approximately 15 booths that will need the treats.

Kona Ice will be at our school on Oct 19. We ask that you pay ahead if possible as this is easier for the students and the staff.
